Description
Arborwood Tree Service Inc. is a full-service tree care company with over 25 years of experience, serving residential and commercial clients throughout Smithville, Ontario and the surrounding area. We are committed to safety, customer service, and quality workmanship, and are seeking a Certified Utility Arborist (444B) to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of utility infrastructure and ensuring public safety through expert vegetation management.

Key responsibilities include:
- Perform utility line clearance pruning and removal in accordance with provincial regulations and industry best practices
- Work safely around energized electrical conductors while maintaining required clearances
- Identify tree hazards and assess risks related to utility infrastructure
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, bucket trucks, and climbing gear
- Follow safety procedures, job briefings, and emergency protocols
- Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and utility representatives
- Complete required documentation and daily work reports
- Maintain clean and organized work sites
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with the public
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario 444B Utility Arborist Certification
- 1+ year of experience in utility vegetation management or utility line clearance
- Experience working safely around energized electrical conductors and maintaining required clearances
- Experience identifying tree hazards and assessing risks related to utility infrastructure
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining chainsaws, chippers, bucket trucks, and climbing gear
- Experience completing daily work documentation and reports
- Experience communicating with utility representatives as part of field operations
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions, including working at heights and in confined or challenging environments
- Valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario DZ or AZ driver’s license
