Our Rental Property Management division in Calgary is hiring an Accounting Clerk to support a busy rental portfolio.
This role focuses on full‑cycle accounting tasks within a clearly defined portfolio. You’ll work closely with a highly experienced accounting leadership team and collaborate with Property Managers across the province. Support, guidance, and established processes are built into how the work is done.
What this role is about
As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll handle the day‑to‑day accounting for rental properties, including rent processing, owner payments, and reconciliations. The work is structured and detail‑focused, with predictable monthly and weekly cycles.
You’ll also participate in weekly POD meetings with Property Managers to stay aligned and connected.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys accurate, process‑driven work, clear expectations, and building confidence in full‑cycle accounting.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Completing full‑cycle accounting for rental properties, including:
- Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Accounts Payable (A/P)
- Monthly owner statements and owner payments
- Processing rent, move‑in and move‑out transactions, refunds, and management fees
- Preparing and completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparing and posting journal entries and accruals
- Ensuring annual budgets are entered accurately
- Completing weekly cheque runs
- Supporting non‑resident and other required government reporting
- Following RECA requirements related to trust accounting
- Working with internal teams to provide consistent and reliable service
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who can do many of the following:
- Some experience in property management accounting or rental property accounting
- General understanding of full‑cycle accounting processes, including:
- Subledgers and general ledgers
- Chart of accounts
- Basic financial reporting
- Comfortable working with accounting software and Excel
- Able to manage detailed work accurately, even during busy periods
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to follow established processes and meet regular deadlines
