Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Manager, Material Management to our growing team, based in Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; or Winnipeg, MB.

Reporting to the Vice President, Project Delivery (Transmission), we are seeking an experienced and results-oriented professional with a strong background in materials and logistics management to build, standardize, and lead the material management function across the Transmission business unit. This role is responsible for developing material management processes and ensuring they are executed consistently on project sites across the country. The successful candidate is a strategic leader who can stand up new programs, motivate and develop teams, and drive accountability across a geographically dispersed, fast-paced construction environment.

Please Note: This role requires regular travel to transmission project sites across Canada to oversee material management operations and ensure process compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the material management process for the Transmission business unit, establishing standardized procedures for planning, coordination, sourcing, inventory control, and documentation across all project sites
  • Oversee the logistics function across all active transmission projects, including planning, coordination, sourcing of logistics suppliers, alignment with approved procurement plans, and managing documentation for verification of subcontractor invoices
  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors at the business-unit level, negotiating master agreements and ensuring contract terms are met across all project sites
  • Partner with Project Managers and site teams across the country to monitor material management compliance, conduct site audits, and proactively address material or logistical risks
  • Report on material management performance, risks, and cost trends to senior leadership and clients, maintaining strong working relationships across the organization
  • Build, lead, and develop the material management team across multiple project sites, including hiring, training, and establishing a high degree of credibility with site staff and clients
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of material management methods, procedures, and tools across the business unit, ensuring consistent execution at every project site
  • Perform other duties within the scope of material management leadership and business-unit operations as required

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education in supply chain management, logistics, construction management, business, or a related field
  • an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in materials management or logistics management, including experience building or scaling processes across multiple sites or projects
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing geographically distributed teams in a project-based construction environment
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects and deliver results against business-unit objectives
  • Proficiency in MS Office and materials management software or databases
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to project sites across Canada

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the electrical utility or transmission construction sector
  • Experience leading a material or logistics management function across multiple concurrent construction or infrastructure projects
  • Experience developing and implementing standardized material management processes across a geographically dispersed or remote project environment
