Description
Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Construction Supervisor - Grounding to our team, based on the Waasigan Transmission Line Construction Project in Northern Ontario.
Please Note: this is a field based position in Northern Ontario. Successful candidates must be willing to work shifts based in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Grounding activities and crew members (up to 10 people)
- Ensure compliance with Valard’s safety Policies and Procedures
- Complete daily paperwork relating to jobsite, including timesheets, quality reports, field reports, etc.
- Coach and mentor employees to develop technical skills and on Valard’s safety policies and procedure
- Ensure compliance with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction quality practices
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere within the group as well as Client relations when interacting with the Client
- Work with on-site Safety Advisor to address any safety concerns brought forth by crews and or Client
- Ensure that the crews are following the Valard Quality Management Plan and that the work is being completed efficiently and effectively
- Work with Construction Managers to understand the full scope of the project to identify changes that could directly impact cost and schedule
Requirements
- 5 Years’ relevant experience
- Knowledge of Counterpoise installation with heavy equipment and installing groundwells
- Experience and understanding of FOP testing method
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience using Meggers and Groudflex Units, and recording results
- EIT or electrical background with field experience is not required but would be beneficial.
