Description
Space Concepts is a leading provider of industrial racking, locker and shelving solutions serving a diverse range of clients across the GTA and beyond - including warehouses, distribution centres, schools, healthcare facilities and government buildings. Based out of our Aurora facility, we're looking for an experienced Racking & Shelving Installer to join our installation crews on commercial and institutional project sites. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience assembling industrial racking and shelving systems, thrives in a fast paced environment and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. This role also involves driving our 5-ton truck to transports products and equipment to job sites.
- Assemble industrial racking, shelving and locker systems at commercial and institutional client sites.
- Work as part of the installation team, following the direction of the Crew Lead to ensure accurate and efficient project completion.
- Handle components with care during assembly to ensure products are installed in excellent condition.
- Use hand tools, power tools, laser levels, chalk lines and measuring tools to execute precise layouts and installations.
- Operate scissor lifts or other elevated work platforms for high-bay racking installations as required.
- Drive a 5-ton truck or cube van to transport products and equipment to job sites.
- Conduct loading and unloading at client sites in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with general warehouse and facility upkeep as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 - 5 years hands-on experience installing industrial racking, shelving, lockers or similar commercial fixtures.
- Proficient with hand and power tools; experience with laser levels, chalk lines and measuring tools considered a strong asset.
- Forklift or elevated work platform (scissor lift) certification is an asset.
- Experience working in occupied facilities is preferred.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be eligible for Canadian Reliability Clearance (required for work at government or secure client sites).
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying or pushing items over 50 lbs.
- Ability to follow direction from a Crew Lead and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Core Hours are Monday to Friday; shift times vary depending on client requirements and project demands.
- Occasional overnight travel outside the GTA may be required for certain installation and delivery projects.
- Work is performed at client sites and may involve navigating stairs or tight work areas.
- Required training will be provided in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA).
