Position Overview

The BIM Designer will play a key role in bridging innovative digital design with practical modular construction. This position is responsible for supporting the virtual design process, leveraging advanced 3D modeling and BIM tools to ensure coordination across internal teams, clients, and contractors.

This role contributes to maintaining alignment across project timelines, budgets, quality, and compliance standards, supporting efficient and successful project delivery. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment are essential.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Sales Drawings: Collaborate with the sales team to ensure project specifications are clearly captured in preliminary drawings
  • 3D Modeling & Visualization: Develop 3D presentations and renderings to support project understanding and sales efforts
  • Project Kickoff: Participate in project kickoff meetings to align on scope, timelines, and expectations
  • Permit Drawings: Produce permit drawings based on approved specifications and project estimates
  • Consultant Coordination: Liaise with external consultants to ensure drawings are accurate and compliant with applicable codes
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor adherence to building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Fabrication Drawings: Prepare and coordinate detailed shop and fabrication drawings aligned with production requirements
  • Production Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to ensure models and drawings reflect build methodologies
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a key point of communication across Sales, Design, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams
  • BOM & Material Coordination: Support accurate model-based material takeoffs in collaboration with the BOM Coordinator
  • Clash Detection: Generate and help resolve clash detection issues across architectural, structural, and MEP models
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to the Design Manager on project progress and coordination
  • Health & Safety / Compliance: Adhere to company policies, including health and safety and code of conduct
  • Flexibility in Role: Be prepared to undertake related additional duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Requirements

What you bring:

  • Diploma or a university degree in Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of BIM experience within a production focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design and construction practices, with experience with modular construction an asset.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in advanced software applications including Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, and Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with programming in Python or Dynamo is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Autodesk BIM360 and Revizto software is advantageous.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office suite, Teams, and Bluebeam/Bluebeam Studio for project management and collaboration.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong focus on attention to detail

This is an existing full-time vacancy.

Benefits

Compensation: Base salary is $70,000-$90,000
