Training Opportunity Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Cardiac

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is looking for
expressions of interest from individuals who are
interested in pursuing a career as a Registered Diagnostic Medical
Sonographer Cardiac‑ Cardiac Specialty
(RDMS
Cardiac
‑Cardiac).
TBRHSC will pay full tuition costs with a return of service and
program completion agreement.
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for acceptance into
Mohawk College. Prospective students will either
relocate to Hamilton for two semesters of didactic program of
studies (commencing September 2026) or
complete didactic studies virtually (if offered by Mohawk College)
then do clinical training in our Echo Lab.
Admission criteria include:
A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer General‑ General
Ultrasound
OR
A graduate of a two-year‑year registered health professions
diploma program with six credit hours in Human Anatomy
and Physiology, or equivalent, and six more health care related
credit hours (i.e., ethics, psychology, patient care,
‑related credit hours (i.e., ethics,
psychology,
medical research, etc). Such health occupations include but are
not limited to Medical Radiation Technologist,
Respiratory Therapist, Registered Practical Nurse, Cardiovascular
Technologist, Registered Massage Therapist,
Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant
OR
A graduate of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a registered
health professions program with six credit hours in
Human Anatomy and Physiology, or equivalent, and six more health care
related‑related hours (i.e., ethics, psychology,
patient care, medical research, etc). Such degrees include but are
not limited to BSc Kinesiology, BA Kinesiology,
BSc Nursing, Bachelor of Medical Radiation Sciences, Bachelor of
Health Sciences, Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences,
MSc OT and MSc PT
Applicants meeting the above criteria that have not been active in
their profession within the past 5 years are not
eligible to apply to the program
Candidates will have demonstrated adherence to the Hospital's Code
of Conduct. Regular attendance at work is
imperative; therefore, all applicants will have to demonstrate a
good attendance record to be considered for this
opportunity.
