Description

Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add a HDD Locator to our growing team, based in Castor, AB.

Reporting to the Foreman or Lead Hand, we are seeking experienced construction Locators to work alongside our drill operators on underground FTTP and utility installations across Alberta.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Locate and track the drill head during horizontal directional drilling operations
  • Communicate bore path, depth, and deviation to the drill operator in real time
  • Record as-built data and flagging utility conflicts
  • Work with the crew to maintain grade and alignment on bore runs

Requirements

  • Experience in a team-oriented construction environment
  • Demonstrated experience as an HDD locator
  • Familiarity with locating equipment (DigiTrak, Eclipse, or similar)
  • Must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract
  • Must have own vehicle to get to site
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of time
  • Must be flexible to working varying hours
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all Alberta weather conditions
