Jean Tweed is a leading, community-based organization that provides a supportive environment for women and their families with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns. Recognizing the diversity of women’s experience in today’s society, our programs seek to address a range of issues in a woman’s life that may contribute to substance use and gambling concerns.

The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women and their families with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns.

The Research / Business Administration Assistant will support evidence-informed practice at the Jean Tweed Centre through program evaluation and quality improvement. Tasks include evaluation design, data collection, data analysis and knowledge mobilization. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with management, direct service staff, and clients and their families.

 Support all data collection activities, including:

  • Participant recruitment and scheduling
  • Development, distribution and collection of data collection tools
  • Development of a data management system that aligns with organizational IT systems
  • Development of a data collection strategy and implementation plan in partnership with JTC programs and research partners
  • Assist in data analysis and synthesis
  • Assist in the preparation of various research and program evaluation knowledge dissemination documents such as reports, research summaries and information sheets
  • Assist in various knowledge mobilization presentations such as all-staff presentations, team presentations and Board presentation
  • Liaise with various research and community partners

Supporting Evidence-informed Practice:

  • Liaise with teams and programs to champion the evidence-informed practice approach within the organization
  • Support the process of program development and implementation by working in partnership with various program across the agency
  • Assist in the development of an evidence-informed practice training curriculum for different stakeholder groups at JTC
  • Conduct job responsibilities with a commitment to trauma informed, women-centred and anti-oppressive practices

Pay: $18 per hour

Location:  215 Evans Ave., Etobicoke, ON M8Z 1J5

Hours of Work: The hours of work are 8:30am - 4:30pm, 35 hours per week

Requirements

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Research, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Flexibility in work hours
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Experience working in community-based settings
  • A demonstrated commitment to broadening knowledge and skills
